User Agreement & Privacy Notice
Your portal and its limits
Lease to Legacy provides educational homeownership planning for adults 18 and older. By accepting this agreement, you authorize us to save your assessment and use it to provide your personalized roadmap and task tracking. Provide information you believe is accurate and keep your account access secure. Do not impersonate others, misuse the service or attempt unauthorized access.
Scores and suggestions are estimates based on your own answers. They are not a credit score, loan offer, preapproval, financial or legal advice, or a guarantee of mortgage eligibility, assistance, a purchase timeline or results. Verify financing and program requirements with a licensed lender or appropriate provider before making decisions. Features may change or be temporarily unavailable. Nothing in this agreement removes rights or remedies you have under applicable law.
Information we collect and use
We store your self-reported timeline, homebuying barrier, household income, monthly debt, savings, estimated credit range and lender status when you choose to save your assessment. Your account stores your first and last name, email address, mobile telephone number and optional current address. Your portal also stores your preferred name, target location, task progress and consent choices. If you choose to save toolkit entries, we also store your savings milestone, weekly savings amount, records checklist, questions, check-in date and optional reflections. We retain a first recorded assessment snapshot to show changes over time. These planning records are private to your account, subject to the authorized operational access described below. Research remains optional. Your mobile number does not authorize marketing texts. Our sign-in provider manages your email verification, password and secure sessions; we do not store your password in the buyer profile. We use the provider’s verified account identifier to protect access to your roadmap. We record agreement version, consent choices and acceptance time.
The public assessment stays on the page until you choose to save it. A temporary server draft and a secure cookie hold your answers for up to seven days while you sign in. When you create an account, the draft is linked to the account identifier returned by our sign-in provider so it can be saved after you verify your email, including when you sign in from another browser. Expired drafts cannot be claimed and are removed during subsequent assessment saves. We also count assessment starts and completions using random session identifiers. An optional email updates signup is separate from your portal and research choices.
Optional research
Research consent is unchecked by default. If you opt in, Lease to Legacy may study your assessment and portal progress to understand barriers to homeownership, evaluate its roadmap and improve its services. Access to identifiable responses for that purpose is limited to authorized Lease to Legacy personnel. Findings shared with housing organizations, research partners or the public will be aggregated and de-identified; we will not share identifiable individual research responses with those recipients.
Research is optional. Refusing or withdrawing consent does not prevent portal use. Withdraw consent in Profile to stop future research use. Withdrawal cannot necessarily remove your contribution from findings already aggregated or published. Existing buyers are not opted in automatically. This consent does not authorize selling data, training third-party AI models, targeted advertising or sharing your individual assessment with a lender or agent.
Our no-sale commitment
Lease to Legacy will not sell your personal data or assessment responses, or exchange them for money or other valuable consideration. We do not share them for cross-context targeted advertising. This commitment also applies when you choose to participate in research.
Optional Eve AI preview
Eve is an optional AI educational assistant for explaining a selected roadmap step. Before asking, you separately authorize sending your typed question, that step’s standard guidance and a short recent conversation to OpenAI to generate a response. Your account name, email, financial assessment answers and private toolkit entries are not automatically included. Do not put passwords, Social Security numbers, account numbers or documents into chat. Information you type voluntarily is part of the message sent to the AI service.
Eve can make mistakes and does not verify program funding, determine loan eligibility, provide professional financial or legal advice or take actions for you. Confirm current requirements with official sources and qualified professionals. The free teaser allows five questions per account per calendar month, using Eastern Time. A successfully generated answer uses one question; failed provider responses do not. Expanded access is planned starting January 1, 2027. This preview does not enable paid checkout.
Chat messages remain in the open page and clear when you close the chat or reload. Lease to Legacy does not save question or answer text as chat history. We retain account-linked usage metadata (month, request status, consent version, time and token counts) to enforce limits and monitor operation. Clearing chat or deleting a buyer roadmap does not reset the account’s monthly allowance. Account-linked usage records can be addressed through a verified account privacy request. OpenAI processes messages under its API data controls and retention policies. Eve’s processing is separate from optional research, professional introductions and marketing consent.
Optional professional introductions
You can choose an approved pilot lender or real estate professional in Connections and request an introduction. We share your name and email with that specific professional only after you confirm permission. Phone sharing and a limited roadmap summary (stage, purchase timeline and target location) are separate, unchecked choices. Your financial answers, credit range, score, toolkit notes and account address are not included. Each request records the sharing choices, consent version and time. This permission is separate from research and email updates.
You can view what you shared and withdraw future portal access in Connections. Withdrawal cannot recall information the professional already received, and independent professional recordkeeping obligations may apply. A new introduction requires a new confirmation of sharing choices. Deleting your buyer portal records also removes introduction records and their shared details from this platform. An introduction does not establish professional representation, authorize a credit check or guarantee assistance or financing. You remain free to choose other professionals.
Professional invitation access
Lender and Realtor onboarding requires a private invitation link and its separate six-digit code, specific to the invited email and role. Codes are invalid after successful signup or after an existing verified account claims an invitation. Unused invitations expire after 14 days, and five incorrect code attempts lock an invitation. We retain protected token and code hashes, use and expiration times, failed-attempt counts and the account identifier that claims an invitation. Codes are not included in invitation URLs. Owner review and approval remain separate from account creation.
Matching and your professional journey
Matching is optional. Your preparation task checkmarks open the lender step; no minimum savings amount is required. An approved, connected lender can record an independently determined preapproval and expiration to open the Realtor step. A self-reported preapproval alone does not authorize access by a Realtor. Suggestions match your selected purchase state to the professional’s listed primary license state. Review the listed local service areas and confirm availability directly. These suggestions are not a loan eligibility decision, professional endorsement or guarantee of service. You must separately choose and authorize each professional; readiness never automatically sends a lead.
After an introduction, that professional can maintain a limited client workspace with their own notes, tasks, journey stage, target closing date and appointments. This does not grant access to your financial assessment, private toolkit, current address, documents or another professional’s notes. You can view the shared stage, target closing date, lender-recorded preapproval expiration and appointment proposals in Connections. You can agree to or cancel an appointment there. Professionals may also confirm an appointment after obtaining your agreement directly. No calendar invitations or email notifications are sent by this feature, and downloaded calendar events do not automatically sync changes.
Withdrawal blocks future portal access to linked workspace records. A new sharing confirmation begins a fresh workspace and does not restore earlier notes or appointments. Deleting your buyer portal data removes the linked professional workspace records from this platform. Previously received information and independent professional records cannot be recalled automatically.
Hosting, access and disclosures
Our service providers support sign-in, hosting and storage. They process information needed to operate the service under their applicable terms and privacy policies. Authorized Lease to Legacy personnel may access information to operate the service, support users or respond to lawful requests. We may disclose information when legally required or necessary to address fraud or security threats. We do not promise absolute security.
Support and operational follow-up
When you submit a support or privacy request, we store your account identifier, account email, category, subject, message, submission time, status and any response. Authorized Lease to Legacy operations can review the request, record internal service notes and update its priority and status. Your account can view its own requests and customer-facing responses in Support; internal owner notes are not shown to you or to other partners. Support responses are displayed in the portal and do not automatically generate an email notification to the customer. When owner email alerts are configured and enabled, a new request sends a basic alert through Resend to the owner’s business inbox. This alert contains only the request number, portal type, category, submission time and an authenticated administration link. Customer names, email addresses, message contents and financial information are not included in the alert. The full request remains in the protected dashboard.
Owner administration uses account records, preparation-task completion counts, roadmap update dates and professional connection stages for operational follow-through. It does not provide lenders or Realtors access to consumer records beyond the introductions consumers authorize. Owner follow-up tasks and administrative activity records help us operate and support the service. Records retained outside your buyer roadmap, including service requests and operational follow-up records, can be addressed through a verified privacy request.
Retention and your choices
Saved assessments, first recorded snapshot, toolkit entries, roadmap progress and research consent records remain until you delete them in Profile. Account contact details and your sign-in account remain; submit a privacy request to request their correction or deletion. You can update your name and location, replace your assessment, change research consent and delete your saved profile, assessment, tasks, toolkit entries, first recorded snapshot and consent records. Portal deletion does not delete your external sign-in account or separately submitted email updates signup. Hosting logs or backups may remain under the hosting provider’s retention policies. Previously aggregated research findings may remain.
For a privacy request concerning records outside your portal, submit a privacy request in your signed-in Profile. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Brand and changes
Lease to Legacy’s branding and original service materials belong to their respective owners. You may use your roadmap for personal planning; this does not transfer ownership of the brand or permit unauthorized commercial reuse. You retain your rights in information you provide.
This notice describes the current service. Material changes to data use will be disclosed before they take effect, and new consent will be requested where required. Agreement changes do not automatically expand a previous research consent.
